The Constellation Collection

The Dalmore 1973 (cask no. 10)

This whisky has spent 32 long years maturing in the finest American white oak, gifting it an initial base of vanilla and honey notes.

To gift true elegance to this spirit, Master Distiller, Richard Paterson hand selected a Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrique from the prestigious Château Haut Marbuzet, in which to mature this whisky. Over the next three years, the spirit would draw seductive notes of grape, cranberries and black cherries from this noble wine cask.

Lastly, for its final refinement, it was transferred for a final three years into a ‘small batch’ Kentucky bourbon barrel. The result is a whisky full of exotic and majestic flavours.

The Flavour Profile

The Colour

Amber gold with russet shimmering highlights

The Nose

Apple blossom, forest fruits, blackcurrants, fleshy plums and crème brulee

The Taste

Fleshy grape pulp, citrus peel, juicy raisins and spicy marzipan with whispers of cranberries, succulent black cherries and Muscatel

Wine is a great passion of mine so I wanted to release a cask within the collection which showcases my favourite red, Cabernet Sauvignon. From the charm of this majestic grape variety, the whisky takes on notes of black forest fruits and a silky finesse. It is elegance personified.
