This year, The Dalmore has expanded its Cigar Malt Reserve portfolio with a new permanent addition to the collection: The Dalmore Cigar Malt Signature Reserve Aged 18 Years.

With a prestigious 18-year age statement, this sublime Single Malt offers a deeper exploration of multi-cask maturation through an assemblage of five exceptional casks. The result is a richer, more complex whisky, designed to elevate the cigar pairing ritual, yet equally rewarding when savoured on its own.

Born from purposeful design, Cigar Malt Signature Reserve Aged 18 Years begins its journey in our Stillhouse on the shores of the Cromarty Firth. Here, our deliberately unbalanced stills, meticulously designed through every curve and angle, capture a single spirit with a duality of flavour - bright citrus notes balanced by a deep malty richness.

Perfectly suited to a long maturation, this spirit is enriched through the art of multi-cask maturation, gradually building depth and complexity over time as it is moved between rare and exclusive casks sourced from some of the world’s most prestigious wineries and bodegas.

For Cigar Malt Signature Reserve Aged 18 Years, our whisky makers carefully composed a powerful maturation journey through a sublime marriage of five casks. Each cask was selected with intent, adding an element for a specific purpose and playing a defined role in the final whisky.

The spirit was first matured in American white oak ex‑Bourbon barrels, laying an elegant foundation of soft vanilla and honey. It was then enhanced through a considered combination of wine and Sherry casks.

Marsala casks introduced ginger warmth and spice; Cabernet Sauvignon barriques provided structure and refined tannins; Cabernet Franc barriques brought aromatic nuance and subtle complexity, and Matusalem Sherry casks imparted depth with layers of dried fruits and a nutty richness.

Together, these casks create a whisky of considered balance and structure, designed to remain expressive over time - from the first sip to the final draw.

Natural in colour and non-chill filtered, Cigar Malt Signature Reserve Aged 18 Years (ABV 46%) is a Single Malt that rewards patience, gradually revealing its depth and complexity with every sip.

The aroma opens with chocolate orange, dried fig, and dark fruit balanced with subtle hints of aromatic sandalwood. On the palate, forest berries, sticky dates, orange marmalade, dark chocolate, and warming spice culminate in a long, elegant finish of dark fruit, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

While Cigar Malt Signature Reserve Aged 18 Years was designed for moments where the cigar demands more of the whisky, it is not defined by that pairing alone.
