The Dalmore 102 Proof Aged 12 Years - A Single Malt Designed to Shine

Bottled at 51% ABV, 102 Proof Aged 12 Years joins The Dalmore’s existing collection of 12-year-old Single Malts, bringing an increased intensity, while retaining the structure and definition of The Dalmore signature house style of orange, chocolate and warm spice.

From the beginning, the ambition of our whisky makers was to create an entirely new composition inspired by The Dalmore Aged 12 Years, but with the cask maturation story and an increased ABV considered as an integral part of the whisky’s character from the outset.

102 Proof was initially matured for ten years in American white oak Bourbon barrels, developing an elegant foundation of soft vanilla and delicate honey flavours.

The spirit was then carefully apportioned between Oloroso Sherry casks and bespoke casks created exclusively for The Dalmore from classic and aged Oloroso combined with sweet Pedro Ximénez. Here, it rested for a further two years, developing new layers of flavour and character.

Finally, the separately matured elements were brought back together and harmonised, creating an entirely new composition, specifically designed to shine at 102 Proof.​

Created for those seeking a more intense and exploratory way to savour, 102 Proof Aged 12 Years can be enjoyed neat, revealing greater presence and structure, or explored with water as its aromas and flavours develop in the glass.

Its higher strength also allows the whisky to remain expressive in a spirit-forward cocktail, offering greater versatility for those accustomed to higher-proof styles.

The nose opens with candied citrus, sun-dried raisins, treacle toffee, and warming oak spice. Rich layers of forest berries, Seville orange marmalade, fruit cake, and dark chocolate emerge on the palate, lifted by a hint of sweet liquorice. The finish is long and smooth, leaving notes of dried fruit, freshly roasted coffee, and dark chocolate truffle.

An elegant evolution of the house style, The Dalmore Aged 12 Years Sherry Cask Select offers a more indulgent expression of the flavours that define The Dalmore. Shaped by a maturation journey that honours The Dalmore’s centuries-long affiliation with Sherry, it is made from an assemblage of Sherry casks, combining aged Oloroso with Pedro Ximénez to enhance the spirit’s richness and complexity.

A truly decadent masterpiece, this whisky reveals fragrant caramelised orange, rich ginger and sultanas laced with honey on the nose. On the palate, dark chocolate and freshly crushed almonds are lifted by a dusting of cinnamon. The finish is soft and indulgent, with notes of sweet mango, panna cotta, and lemon sponge cake.
