The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve was born from a singular vision: to create the perfect Single Malt to complement the world’s finest cigars. Offering layers of tropical fruit, vanilla, and dark chocolate, this expression is as much about versatility as it is about pairing.
Made for moments of quiet indulgence, this expression is defined by its depth, complexity and considered design, offering a rewarding experience whether paired with a fine cigar or savoured on its own.
A Legacy of Innovation
Like every whisky from The Dalmore, the Cigar Malt Reserve begins its journey in our uniquely unbalanced stills, where every curve, angle and proportion has been intentionally designed to create a robust New Make spirit of exceptional character. Notes of bright citrus and malty depth emerge, laying the foundation for the whisky’s complexity.
Under the guidance of our whisky makers, the spirit first matures in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, developing a base of soft vanilla and honey flavour notes.
A portion of the spirit remains in the American oak, while the rest is divided between Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques - gently introducing tannins that contrast its natural sweetness with earthy spice - and 30-year-old Matusalem Sherry casks from our long-time partner González Byass, layering rich notes of dark chocolate and ripe berries.
The three styles are then expertly married together, perfectly combining their unique characteristics - a true testament to the artistry of our whisky makers.

Ingredients
60ml of The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve
15ml Carpano Antica Formula (a sweet red vermouth)
5ml Matusalem reduction
2 dashes of Regans No.6 Orange Bitters
Method
Stir the ingredients together in a mixing glass with ice until chilled. Strain into a Nick & Nora glass and garnish with an orange zest twist.
