An enriched experience on the French Riviera - Part Two
Set in the heart of the French Riviera at the legendary Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel, the two-day launch event brought together friends of The Dalmore – tastemakers and cultural influencers – to discover the Cask Curation Series: The Red Wine Cask Edition - celebrating the union of red wine casks and Single Malt whisky.
Sailing to Èze
Day two of the event opened with a delicious breakfast on the terrace, bathed in the warm, early morning Mediterranean sun, guests reflected on the previous day and anticipated the new experiences that lay ahead.
The group then travelled to Port de Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat where two private yachts awaited to carry them along the glittering Riviera coastline to the village of Èze.
Perched high above the Mediterranean Sea, between Monaco and Nice, the village of Èze offers a glimpse back in time to the golden age of the Riviera, with its stone buildings and old-world glamour. After exploring the narrow winding streets lined with charming boutiques and art galleries, the group climbed the steep cobblestone path up to Château Eza, a Michelin-starred restaurant
Arriving at Château Eza, our guests were struck by the breath-taking views over the shimmering Côte d’Azur, with the distant foothills of the French Alps just visible on the horizon.
The group then enjoyed a private lunch featuring a carefully curated menu of local cuisine, amuse-bouche, glazed vanilla burrata, roasted monkfish, and a delicate assortment of mignardises, finishing with a Highland Bloom cocktail, each course perfectly paired with a selected wine.
To round off the day’s events, the group made their way to Parfumerie Galimard, one of France’s leading fragrance houses, for a perfume creation experience.
There, after a guided tour around the atelier, guests were led in a tutored exploration by a master perfumer on the architecture of perfume with its base notes, heart notes and top notes – drawing parallels to the art of whisky making.
Surrounded by more than one hundred bottles of fragrance notes, each guest, guided by personal preference, blended a bespoke bottle of Eau de Parfum, as a keepsake to encapsulate the essence of the trip.
Once complete, the bottles were sealed, inscribed with names, and the group returned to Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat.
After two unforgettable days of exceptional dining, shared stories, laughter and discovery of The Cask Curation Series: The Red Wine Cask Edition, the guests bid one another a fond farewell and departed with enduring memories of moments shared together.
