The Dalmore 1966 (cask no. 7)

An illuminating fusion of aromas sparkle from this spirit that has spent many long undisturbed years maturing in three exquisite casks.

Firstly, to create the backbone of this noble spirit, it was matured in an American white oak cask for 37 years. This created a subtle base of vanilla and honey notes.

The spirit was then transferred into a Matusalem sherry cask where for almost six years this wood weaved its magical spell, gifting notes of black forest fruits, citrus orange and spicy cinnamon.

For its final flourish and finesse the spirit was moved into a specially selected fresh distillery run bourbon cask for two years before it was finally deemed ready by our Master Distiller.

The Flavour Profile

The Colour

Mahogany gold

The Nose

Blood oranges, crushed apples and pear followed by Ogen melon, walnuts, Jamaican jerk and cinnamon. Whispers of Bulgarian roses and jasmine coupled with coriander and cocoa powder complete the experience

The Taste

Ripe mandarins, kumquats, black forest fruits and pineapple tease, before a wave of ortaniques, ginger, black treacle and chewy liquorice. Hints of vanilla, creamy caramel and Swiss chocolate to finish.

“Even after 45 long years this whisky still retains the essence of The Dalmore house style. Age, combined with its maturation in Matusalem sherry casks exclusively available to The Dalmore, gifts this whisky with the signature flavours of intense dark chocolate and orange
